Soviet. Soviet. Soviet. Concrete was VERY popular. Macedonia was planned. Really planned. Everyone seems to live in one city in concrete monuments to socialism. The paint is new and there is neon some places, but you can't hide the fact that you are visiting a place that some "comrade" drew on a map in the middle of nowhere. Outside the capital it is mile after mile of nearly perfect farmland. You could be in Kansas, seriously. Except there is nothing. No farmhouses, no trees. Nothing. Macedonia is just a step above Albania for "oddest" country, as they do seem to be building some momentum.

But, c'mon, Macedonia? What do we really know about Macedonia?
