We take an 18 hour bus ride (on perhaps the nicest bus in the entire World) all the way from Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls. The falls span the border between Brazil and Argentina in a location only a few kilometers from Paraguay. On my birthday we visit a geode mine where they have a primitive method for extracting beautiful quartz crystals. The next day we get up early for our tour of the Argentine side of the falls. We start at the top, walk along the edge, and eventually end at the Throat of the Devil where we are literally being engulfed in a wave of mist and spray. Later we take another hike on the lower level of the falls on the Argentine side. The second day we venture over to Brazil for a more panoramic view of the falls. Many people say it.s not worth seeing the falls from Brazil, but I disagree. We finish the day by spending an hour or so visiting the World.s largest dam, Itaupu which sits snuggly between Paraguay and Brazil. The theme for the last two days: wet. Very wet.
